Stanford Achievement Tests, Tenth Edition - SAT 10
The SAT 10 has been used to guide teaching and learning for over 80 years. The purpose of its usage is to assess our student’s learning and their acquisition of skills. The SAT 10 tests helps teachers to find out what students know or need to know in order to guide their instruction appropriately. The test is given to students in 2nd through 8th grades at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School. The test uses multiple-choice, short answer, and extended response formats. Some grade levels require students to write five to six sentences, graph their work or illustrate an answer to a problem. This often occurs in the areas of math and science.
At St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School, our achievement results show that our students score well above the national average of the 50th percentile. These test scores are reported in a variety of ways including a developmental scale, norm-based scores that compare a student’s performance to a representative sample across the United States.
We are very pleased with our students’ achievement and are reassured that our instruction and curriculum continues to meet the needs of all our learners. The staff prides itself on providing a rigorous and challenging curriculum always extending the instructional content well above the benchmarks required by the State of Nevada and the Nevada Curriculum Standards.
