Mrs. Christine Perdomo

Chris Perdomo has been an educator for the Carson City School District and Douglas County School District for 33 years.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Idaho and an Educational Leadership degree from the University of Nevada in Reno.  Chris taught for 25 years in the Carson City School District.  Over the 25 years, she experienced the pleasure of teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, Special Education Resource, and Gifted and Talented programs.  In addition to these assignments, she worked as an administrative assistant to the Coordinator of Special Education in Carson City School District for 3 years and was instrumental in implementing the present day mainstreaming program in the district.  In 1999, she was hired in Douglas County School District as an administrator.  She worked at C. C. Meneley Elementary School for 2 years, at Pau Wa Lu Middle School for one year and finished her career in public education as a principal at Zephyr Cove Elementary School. Her leadership, vision, and commitment to increasing student achievement earned the school the prestigious honor of being recognized as a “high achieving” school for the state of Nevada.  In 2006, Chris was hired as the principal of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School.  She has been a member of the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community for 34 years.  During these years she has taught CCD classes, participated in the Engaged Couples program, was a member of the St. Ann’s Guild, was a Eucharistic Minister, and a Children’s Liturgy Instructor.  Today, as the principal of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School, she believes that God has truly blessed her by allowing her to meld her spiritual life with her love and passion for teaching.  She is able to extend her life-long ministry of teaching into the wonderful learning environment of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School.  Her love of learning continues to be transferred to all the students, staff, and parents of this school.  She feels personally blessed to be the principal of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School.
